My latest personal project and renovation - Part 1!

Deborah Nelson October 9, 2019

I’ve been renovating a beautiful old Victorian home in Halifax, NS since early this year. YWCA Home for the Holidays 2019!

Deborah Nelson October 2, 2019

I’m excited to announce that I’m participating as a designer in this year's Homes for the Holidays hosted by YWCA Halifax! The event happens November 22nd to 24th and I’ll be showcasing a personal project of mine, a beautiful old Halifax home with lots of character that I’ve been renovating since March.  You can purchase tickets and walk through 3 Halifax homes that have been decorated for the holiday season.  Money raised from this event will support local women and girls, so I’m thrilled to be involved.

I used a variety of antiques in this guest room - the bed, chair, blanket and artwork were all items I've collected over time. I love how they add so much character to a room, the antique charcoal sketch above the bed is dated from the 1800’s
Easing you into holiday decorating with one of my favourite past kitchens, featuring a tiny countertop tree and red wool blanket. I’m a big fan of subtle decorations that can make a space feel cozy and festive through the long winter months. My
Open shelving is one of my favourite ways to display those items in your kitchen that are both functional and full of character, like cutting boards, dishes, glassware and even quirky bottle openers 📷: @samsonpix⁣
